Chelsea are set to battle Arsenal and Liverpool in their pursuit of Greek attacking sensation Konstantinos Karetsas.
Chelsea’s project revolves around signing the best young players from across the globe. They are constantly looking for players who could help them in the long run, and according to a report from TEAMtalk, the Blues consider Konstantinos Karetsas an ideal fit for their team, and they are to rival Arsenal and Liverpool for his signature.
Karetsas has come up the ranks at Genk and has been a part of their first team since the start of 2024. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has already featured in a total of 70 matches for their senior side and has even contributed towards 20 goals.
His impressive rise has already helped him cement a spot in the Greek national team. More importantly, it has placed him on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. While his contract at the Belgian club runs until 2029, clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea look set to prise him away.
Premier League giants to battle for Karetsas
The BlueCo have an exceptional track record of recruiting the best young players, and they have their eyes set on Karetsas. Having scouted the versatile attacker for months, they look set to make a move for the teenage sensation.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Liverpool, who are also very attentive to young players with massive potential, have been keeping tabs on him for some time. Both clubs have the finances needed to rival Chelsea in their pursuit of the Greek international.
While the Blues already have a lot of options in the final third, it still won’t stop them from going all out for the 18-year-old. In the end, it might come down to which club has a better project to offer Karetsas. Meanwhile, all three Premier League clubs could face significant competition from other top clubs in Europe.
Genk are aware of the increasing interest in his services, and they believe holding onto him for long could prove very difficult given the stature of the clubs that are keen on his signature.
