AS Roma are the latest team to enter the Axel Disasi race, as rivals AC Milan are also keen on the unwanted Chelsea misfit.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, AS Roma are interested in a move for Axel Disasi, who is currently frozen out of Chelsea’s plans. AC Milan are also keen on the unwanted centre-back as his versatile defensive qualities could prove useful in Serie A.
Many teams will be looking at a low-cost solution to solve several of their squad problems, and Axel Disasi’s ready availability will be looked up strongly by some of the teams. The Chelsea defender, who joined the club in a €45 million deal two and a half years ago, is not part of Enzo Maresca’s plans.
Chelsea have completely frozen the defender out of the first team activities alongside Raheem Sterling. Unlike the latter, the Frenchman does have plenty of interest with the likes of Newcastle United and West Ham looking at him ahead of January.
The Premier League sides are not alone, as there’s plenty of continental sides keen to explore a move for the €45 million Chelsea misfit. Borussia Dortmund were credited with an interest of late, while there are some high-profile clubs over in Italy, including Fiorentina, who hold an admiration for the versatile defender.
AC Milan are also interested in Disasi, as Massimiliano Allegri eyes a low-cost defensive solution ahead of the January window. The Rossoneri could make a compelling offer, probably on loan, to sign the €45 million Chelsea misfit, as a switch to the San Siro could prove to be a viable idea for the unwanted Frenchman.
AS Roma to rival for Axel Disasi?
Disasi has another big suitor coming out of Italy, as AS Roma are ready to bring the €45 million Chelsea misfit to the club to reinforce their backline. The ability of the Frenchman to lay multiple defensive positions makes him an attractive target, although the Italian Capital giants are not expected to make anything other than a loan offer.
The potential proposal could certainly come with a buy option of sorts, as Chelsea will not be expecting permanent solutions to the unwanted star. A move to Italy looks stronger than ever for Disasi, although he may have to choose between Roma and Milan as things stand.
