Arsenal and Chelsea initiate contact with Kenan Yildiz

Arsenal and Chelsea are getting into a strong position for Kenan Yildiz, having initiated contact with Jorge Mendes over a future possibility.

According to Caught Offside, Kenan Yildiz is fast emerging as a key target for London duo Arsenal and Chelsea, with the Premier League giants positioning themselves strongly in the race. The two teams have initiated contact with Jorge Mendes over a future possibility, as Juventus are still scrambling to get a renewal in place.

Kenan Yildiz is currently one of the hottest attacking talents in the whole of Europe, as Juventus are fighting hard to keep the Turkish international for the long run. Earlier, a renewal was thought to be a straightforward task, but the player’s rise in stature has opened up new possibilities, particularly as a new contract is far from being agreed.

Yildiz is yet to sign fresh terms with Juventus, as the club are yet to match his salary demands. The Turkish star currently earns €1.5-1.7 million a year, and is demanding around €6 million a year to extend his stay in Turin, something the Bianconeri are yet to comply.

While there’s no indication that he might leave at the moment, Juventus will reportedly demand €100 million for the €1.5-1.7 million-a-year Serie A attacking prodigy. That may not be an issue for Yildiz’s suitors from the Premier League, as Arsenal and Chelsea are positioning themselves strongly should a door open up to sign the Turkish international.

Chelsea reportedly saw a bid rejected by Juventus last summer, as they have planned for fresh talks. The Blues have a good relationship with Yildiz’s representative, who happens to be super agent Jorge Mendes, as they are showing readiness to invest big in a player of his quality.

Will Kenan Yildiz leave Juventus?

Arsenal are also in contact with Mendes over a move, as the north Londoners are widely seen as one of the serious contenders for the Turkish international. The Gunners are planning on signing a wide attacker in the future, keeping the long-term future in mind, as they have earmarked a move for Yildiz as a priority in the near future.

Now, the ball is probably in Yildiz’s court, given the seriousness of the interest in him from Arsenal and Chelsea. It’s up to Juventus to figure out a formula to renew his deal at the club, or they risk losing him, as those English sides will be ready to pay a big fee to get the 20-year-old from Turin.
