Manchester United rival Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham United in Mamadou Sangare race, winter move possible

Manchester United are ready to rival Chelsea and Tottenham as well as West Ham in the race for RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare.

According to Team Talk, RC Lens star Mamadou Sangare continues to attract big interest from Premier League teams after a tremendous start to the season. Manchester United are the latest to enter the race, with Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham already vying for the 23-year-old Ligue 1 midfielder’s signature ahead of January.

Mamadou Sangare has been an instrumental presence for RC Lens this season, as the Ligue 1 side sits on top of their domestic standings. The French club are a point ahead of reigning champions PSG, as they will think about a potential return to the Champions League if not actually winning the league.

Hence, any move in the January window might prove tricky even if Lens are to receive big bids for the 23-year-old Ligue 1 midfielder. It remains to be seen how much Lens would demand to sell their key star, especially in January.

There are a host of clubs from the Premier League angling for a move, with Manchester United the latest to enter the race. Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham are also keen, as the English top-flight sides are all angling for a new midfield signing.

In the case of Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham, it remains to be seen whether they are willing to stump up the necessary price for the 23-year-old Ligue 1 midfielder. Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester United are also linked with Sunderland’s Nopah Sidiki, which is further indication they are keen on a new midfield signing.

Manchester United to target Mamadou Sangare?

Sangare is also a target for Manchester United, who are in the market for a new midfield signing. They are ready to entertain offers for Manuyel Ugarte, while Kobbie Mainoo’s immediate future has also come under severe cloud. Sangare is not the only name on their list, as the Red Devils are in part interested in Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams.

As for Sangare, he has been sensational for Lens this season, as Manchester United may view him as an alternative of sorts to some of their other high-profile targets. Moreover, should the Red Devils sign him in January, they could potentially have the Lens star as a long-term option and a good choice for their squad-building exercise.
