Manchester City keen on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Pep Guardiola has urged Manchester City to sign Everton midfield mainstay Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

While things didn’t go according to plan for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at Chelsea, he has managed to revive his career at Everton. His impressive performances at the Merseyside club have caught the attention of Pep Guardiola.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Spanish manager wants to bring the 27-year-old to Manchester City. He seeks more quality in the centre of the park, and considers Dewsbury-Hall an ideal fit for his system.

Enzo Maresca took the former Leicester City star to Chelsea with him in the summer of 2024. But, unfortunately, the move didn’t work out as the English midfielder failed to establish himself at the London club. While the Italian boss had high expectations of him, he didn’t have the desired impact.

While he was involved in 36 matches, Dewsbury-Hall racked up fewer than 2,000 minutes of first-team action. Since he didn’t have a prominent role at Chelsea, the 27-year-old ended up joining Everton last summer in a deal worth €28.65 million.

He has not only managed to establish himself as a key figure at the club, but he has also attracted a lot of interest on the back of his consistent performances. He has been involved in 16 games in all competitions and has contributed towards seven goals. Five of those goal contributions have come in his last six league outings.

Guardiola wants Dewsbury-Hall at City

His performances have placed him on the radar of Pep Guardiola, who wants to further bolster his midfield. The Spanish manager is looking for a versatile midfielder who can add more competition for places. Dewsbury-Hall has the experience and the quality to succeed at City.

Despite having failed to make an impact at Chelsea, the Manchester-based giants seem willing to bet on him. Guardiola has directly requested his signing, and City are already working hard to sign one of the most in-form midfielders in the English top flight.

While the Toffees are in no rush to negotiate his departure, they could look to cash in on him if a serious financial offer comes their way. Dewsbury-Hall is happy at Everton, but the opportunity to play for City under Guardiola will surely tempt him. As a result, this is one to keep an eye on.
