Arsenal will compete with Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign 19-year-old Spanish centre-back Victor Valdepenas from Real Madrid.
According to a report by ESPN Deportes, Victor Valdepenas is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a young centre-back in the coming months. So, the 19-year-old Real Madrid defensive sensation has emerged as a target for the North London outfit.
However, the Premier League table-toppers are not alone in the battle for the Spaniard’s services, as Bundesliga clubs are also vying for his signature. Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are also among the prospective suitors monitoring Valdepenas closely at Real Madrid. However, “none of these teams have yet made an offer for the Real Madrid youth product” amid his desire to remain at the club.
Victor Valdepenas is the latest promising prospect to rise in prominence in his homeland. A native of Madrid, the teenage prospect has spent his formative years thus far in Spain, passing through the academies at Villa Rosa, Rayo Vallecano, and CD Leganes before graduating from the youth division at Real Madrid.
The Spanish defensive sensation has already made his senior bow for Real Madrid, with Xabi Alonso handing the youngster his debut this past weekend against Deportivo Alaves.
