Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo reportedly wants to join Liverpool when he leaves Bournemouth amid his links with other Premier League bigwigs.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Antoine Semenyo is the subject of interest from Liverpool. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing the Bournemouth attacker, who will cost around £65 million. However, they have fallen behind Liverpool in the race to sign the Ghanaian international, who wants to join the Merseyside outfit.
How has Antoine Semenyo become a Premier League star?
Antoine Semenyo has become a household name since joining Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023. The 25-year-old winger hit the ground running at the Vitality Stadium, and he has gone from strength to strength in the last three years.
Meanwhile, the London-born attacker has enjoyed a solid 2025/26 campaign, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 14 Premier League appearances thus far. Semenyo’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur.
A man in demand
The Ghanaian international has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as Mohamed Salah faces an uncertain future at Anfield after his bombshell interview last week. So, the Reds have set their sights on the Bournemouth attacker as a long-term replacement for their long-serving forward.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Antoine Semenyo makes sense. The Red Devils bolstered their offensive unit by signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko in the summer transfer window. However, they need more firepower in January, as Mbeumo will leave for the Africa Cup of Nations. So, Semenyo is a viable target for Manchester United. As for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola wants more firepower in the final third.
Semenyo can bring the consistency that has been lacking from Manchester City’s offensive plays. As for Tottenham, Richarlison faces an uncertain future at the North London club, and the Lilywhites are yet to sign a long-term successor to Son Heung-min. So, Semenyo is a viable target for Tottenham. However, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Tottenham have fallen behind in the race to sign the London-born attacker.
Semenyo, who has a release clause of £65 million in his contract with Bournemouth, wants to join Liverpool when he leaves the Cherries. So, it will be interesting to see if Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur can do anything to usurp Liverpool in the battle for the 25-year-old Ghanaian international’s signature.
