Crystal Palace in transfer tussle to sign Adam Brennan

Crystal Palace will compete with three Championship clubs in the race to sign 18-year-old Irish attacking midfield prodigy Adam Brennan from University College Dublin.

According to a report by Football Insider, Adam Brennan is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacking midfielder next year. So, the 18-year-old University College Dublin midfield sensation has emerged as a target for the South London club.

However, Crystal Palace will not be alone in the race to sign the Irishman next year, as EFL Championship clubs Birmingham City, Hull City, and Wrexham are also keen on securing his services. The Tigers even invited the youngster for a trial due to their “good relationship with UCD”.

Who is Adam Brennan?

Adam Brennan is the latest wonderkid to rise in prominence in his homeland. While the Republic of Ireland will hope to secure World Cup qualification next year, the country’s next batch of promising prospects has started making their mark. As for Brennan, the 18-year-old graduated from the youth division at University College Dublin.

The Irish attacking midfielder has enjoyed an impressive campaign with UCD, amassing nine goals and four assists in 28 league appearances this term. Meanwhile, Brennan’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Crystal Palace will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

London calling?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Adam Brennan is understandable. The Eagles are combing the market for a promising attacking midfielder as they look for players who can be the true successor to Eberechi Eze. While Yeremy Pino and Ismaila Sarr have been impressive for Crystal Palace, Oliver Glasner wants more firepower in the final third.

Additionally, Christantus Uche may not complete a permanent move to Crystal Palace after struggling for game time in the first half of the 2025/26 season. So, Brennan has emerged as a viable target for the South London outfit. However, Crystal Palace will face stiff competition from Birmingham City, Hull City, and Wrexham for the Irishman’s signature.

While Brennan may not be ready to become a first-choice starter for Crystal Palace from the get-go, he can be a long-term solution in the final third. However, with EFL Championship clubs also vying for his signature, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Irish attacking midfielder.
