PSG could offer Bradley Barcola in deal to sign Marcus Rashford

Paris Saint-Germain could offer Bradley Barcola in the deal to sign 28-year-old English international Marcus Rashford from Manchester United next year.

According to an update by Keith Wyness on Football Insider, Marcus Rashford is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 champions are scouring the market for a versatile attacker and have set their sights on the Manchester United misfit. They are ready to offer Bradley Barcola in the deal to sign the 28-year-old, thus beating Barcelona to his signature.

Keith Wyness said, “Well, the interesting news and development on that story is that PSG are claiming to be coming in here, and there could be some sort of player swap deal with Bradley Barcola, which makes sense, I think, for United. Now, the player’s point of view, I think Rashford would much prefer to stay at Barca. I think he’s happy, but PSG is not exactly the worst option. And I think he could be spoilt for choice there. And I think there could be a bidding war in terms of least wages being offered to Rashford.”

Has Marcus Rashford turned this around?

Marcus Rashford has continued to resurrect his fortunes since joining Barcelona from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old moved to Barcelona after an excellent spell with Aston Villa in the second half of the 2024/25 season. That helped the Englishman seal a dream move to Barcelona.

The English international has amassed six goals and ten assists in 20 appearances across all competitions thus far for Barcelona. So, it is hardly surprising that Rashford has impressed Flick enough to compel the Blaugrana to contemplate seeking a permanent move. However, the latest update has brought concerning news for Barcelona, with PSG planning an exchange deal.

What next?

Barcelona’s interest in sealing a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford is understandable. While the Manchester United misfit did not immediately become a regular starter for the Blaugrana, he has been exceptional since landing on his feet. So, Rashford is a viable option for Barcelona due to the purchase option in the loan agreement.

As for PSG, while Luis Enrique has a stacked offensive unit in his squad, he wants more firepower in the final third. The Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League holders may offer Bradley Barcola to sweeten the deal. While it will be a surprising proposal, it should appeal to Manchester United due to the Frenchman’s quality and potential.

However, with Rashford intent on remaining with Barcelona beyond this season, a deal for PSG may only materialise if the Catalan giants do not seal a permanent move next summer. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 28-year-old English international.
