Arsenal uninterested in Ben White sale amid Manchester City links

Arsenal will not entertain any bids to part ways with 28-year-old English international Ben White in the winter transfer window amid his links with Manchester City.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Ben White is the subject of interest from Manchester City. The Citizens are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a right-back in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old versatile Arsenal defender has emerged as a target for the Premier League bigwigs.

Apart from Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Como, and Marseille are also keen on signing the Englishman. However, they must look elsewhere for a versatile defender, as Arsenal will not entertain any bids to part ways with White in the winter transfer window, with Mikel Arteta eager to keep him at the Emirates.

How has Ben White fared at Manchester City?

Ben White has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £50 million in July 2021. The 28-year-old has excelled as a centre-back and a right-back, making him a utility man for the North London club. However, an untimely injury allowed Jurrien Timber to become the first-choice right-back, making White the deputy in the position.

So, the English international has managed only 393 minutes of game time in eight appearances across all competitions thus far in the 2025/26 season, chipping in with an assist. Meanwhile, White’s situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Manchester City will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature next year.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Manchester City’s interest in Ben White is understandable. The Citizens are scouring the market for a right-back heading into the winter transfer window, as Pep Guardiola needs more quality in the position. Rico Lewis has yet to win over the Manchester City manager, forcing him to utilise Matheus Nunes as a right-back.

Several candidates, including Valentino Livramento, have thus emerged on Manchester City’s wishlist, with White also a viable target. The 28-year-old Englishman’s ability to play as a centre-back would have made him an appealing target. However, a January move will not materialise.

Arsenal will not entertain bids to part ways with White in the winter transfer window, forcing Manchester City to look elsewhere. Apart from Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Como, and Marseille are also keen on signing the English international. However, they must also look elsewhere for a versatile defender, as Arsenal will not sanction his exit.
