Tottenham line up winter move for Gleison Bremer

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 28-year-old Brazilian international Gleison Bremer from Serie A club Juventus in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Gleison Bremer is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a centre-back in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Juventus defender has emerged as a target for the North London outfit.

How has Gleison Bremer fared at Tottenham?

Gleison Bremer has been one of the most accomplished defenders in Serie A for over half a decade. The 28-year-old spent his formative years in Brazil, and he arrived in Europe by joining Torino in July 2018. The South American defender spent four years at Staxdio Olimpico Grande Torino before moving across Turin by joining Juventus in July 2022.

The move to Juventus has been beneficial for Bremer as he has made considerable progress by establishing a foothold in his national team. The Brazilian international has made nearly 100 appearances for the Bianconeri thus far, chipping in with eight goals and four assists. Meanwhile, Bremer’s progress at Juventus has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Tottenham.

London calling?

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Gleison Bremer is surprising. Thomas Frank has a stacked central defensive unit for the long run after signing Kota Takai in the summer transfer window. The Tottenham manager already has Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso, and Radu Dragusin in his squad. Additionally, Luka Vuskovic is a long-term option for the North London club.

While Romero and van de Ven are hot properties in the market, Tottenham will unlikely entertain bids to part ways with them. Additionally, recent reports have claimed that the Lilywhites want to tie the Dutchman to a new long-term contract. Nevertheless, Bremer has emerged as a target for Tottenham, and they will pursue a winter move for the Juventus defender.

While the report claims that the struggling Serie A giants value the 28-year-old Brazilian international at around €40 million, they will not entertain bids to part ways with him. However, while a deal for the €40 million-rated Bremer may not materialise, other centre-backs, including Kim Min-jae, are on Tottenham’s wishlist.
