Real Madrid rival Barcelona, Chelsea in Karl Etta Eyong chase

Real Madrid are in the mix for Karl Etta Eyong alongside several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona and Chelsea.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Karl Etta Eyong continued to attract plenty of interest, with Real Madrid the latest to enter the race. The Levante striker has made a big impression on proceedings with his goalscoring form, with Barcelona and Chelsea also among those keen.

Real Madrid do not necessarily need a striker, given the players they have in the position at the current moment. Ahead of the winter transfer window, there could be a few changes that Xabi Alonso and Florentino Perez might view as essential, including getting a new striker if some of their current stars end up leaving.

Endrick is primed to depart the club on loan, while there are similar doubts over Gonzalo Garcia ahead of the winter window. Those two young stars are not getting the right minutes at the moment, which could spark a need to move along and open space for new arrivals.

Real Madrid are now in contention to sign Karl Etta Eyong, the Levante striker who has made a big impression with his goalscoring form in La Liga. Of his six goals, five have come for his new club since his summer move from Villarreal. He has been clinical in front of the goal, and that has attracted the Spanish giants towards exploring a move in the near future.

Real Madrid have been adviced to stay alert in the chase for the in-demand 22-year-old striker, as there are other teams closely monitoring Etta Eyong’s situation. Barcelona are also in the mix, while a host of Premier League giants are circling for the Cameroonian attacker as well, including Chelsea.

Etta Eyong on the move in January?

Levante might already be thinking about making a massive profit on their investment in the in-demand 22-year-old La Liga striker, as a January departure could be possible. There will be complications in any move as Etta Eyong has already played for two clubs this season, while he has insisted he ‘dreams’ of playing for Chelsea in the future.

Chelsea are certainly one of those keen, but there are doubts whether they view the in-demand striker as a serious option at the moment. Barcelona are certainly interested in Karl Etta Eyong, as they are looking for an additional striker to take the burden off Robert Lewandowski to an extent. In the context of their team building for the future, the Levante star could be a good option for competition.
