Vitor Roque is firmly on the radars of Chelsea and Tottenham, with the striker demanding guarantees of game time to make the move.
According to Ekrem Konur, Vitor Roque could be headed back to Europe as Premier League giants Chelsea and Tottenham are tracking his progress. Having flopped at Barcelona in a short spell there, the Brazilian attacker has found his rhythm at Palmeiras.
Vitor Roque was seen as a big talent as he was developing into one at Athletico Paranaense, before Barcelona took the opportunity to sign him well before anyone else could. He had a troubled start at the Catalan club under former boss Xavi Hernandez.
After a brief loan spell at Real Betis to help recalibrate himself in European football, Roque left the continent and made his return to Brazil, as Palmeiras struck a deal with Barcelona. Since arriving back in familiar territory, the 20-year-old has been a shining light, scoring and assisting 21 times this season for Palmeiras.
However, Vitor Roque could soon be back in European territory as many clubs are showing big interest in signing him. Chelsea and Tottenham were keen a while ago, with the Londoners continuously tracking his progress ahead of future windows.
Of late, those links to Chelsea and Spurs were rubbished, but as per Ewkrem Konur, there is substance in this interest. There are some things to be ironed out before those sides can make an official approach, as Palmeiras’s demands will also play a key role in any move.
The youngster might be open to the idea of returning to Europe, with Chelsea showing some concrete interest in signing him. The Blues are always on the lookout for talents that suit their transfer policy, and the 20-year-old Barcelona flop certainly fits into their criteria.
Tottenham’s interest complicated
Tottenham are also keen, but there are plenty of complications for them to sign Vitor Roque. The presence of three senior strikers at the North London side makes things complex, as the young Brazilian will want guarantees of game time at the club to even consider moving.
The game time was a big issue during his spell at Barcelona, something that led to the striker returning to Brazil. With the attacker now in renewed form and certainly under less pressure than before, he could make a concerted decision if teams like Chelsea and Tottenham come in with a concrete approach.
