Dayot Upamecano wage demands revealed as Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid circle

Dayot Upamecano is likely to demand a huge wage package either from his new contract at Bayern Munich or from interested suitors.

According to Bild via Sport Witness, a host of top teams interested in signing Dayot Upamecano have been made aware of his massive wage demands. The French defender is reportedly demanding a €16 million a year package to either stay at Bayern Munich or move elsewhere, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid keen.

Dayot Upamecano’s future could be the next topic of discussion within the corridors of Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are in a weaker position compared to the player, given the Frenchman is in the final year of his deal at the Allianz Arena.

Last summer, they were in a similar position with Alphonso Davies, and as per the report, the Bavarians ended up giving him a massive €17 million signing-on bonus to renew his deal at the club. That may affect the negotiations with Upamecano, as Bayern Munich are eager to renew his deal.

However, the defender has not given any clear indication of his willingness to renew, as his wage demands have been made clear. Upamecano is reportedly set to demand €16 million a year in wages to either renew or sign elsewhere, as it is clear the defender wants to make use of his reputation as one of the top defensive names in the business.

The Bayern Munich contract rebel is likely to hold talks with the club over a renewal; his agents will be open to ideas from elsewhere. Real Madrid are ready to offer him a lucrative signing bonus if he were to make the switch, although the pressure on the Spanish giants to sign the Frenchman is less given they are also chasing soon-to-be free agents Ibrahima Konate and Marc Guehi

Dayot Upamecano to the Premier League?

Sticking with Guehi and Konate, Liverpool are keen on the former as the latter is likely to leave on a free transfer next summer, with Real Madrid the most likely of destinations. The Merseysiders will be eager to find a suitable replacement for Konate, and hence they are interested in Upamecano.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also reportedly interested in Upamecano, although the €16 million a year wage demands could end their pursuit of the Bayern Munich contract rebel. Hence, the Blues are the least likely to make a big push for the Frenchman, as the Bavaarians are the ones with the upper hand, but the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid may not be discounted at this stage of this saga.
