West Ham United may look to sign 29-year-old Spanish winger Adama Traore from Fulham in the winter transfer window, with Nuno Espirito Santo keen on a reunion.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Adama Traore is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 29-year-old Fulham winger has emerged as a target for the East London outfit, with Nuno Espirito Santo keen on reuniting with him at the London Stadium.
Adama Traore and his time in the Premier League so far
Adama Traore has endured a topsy-turvy ride throughout his stint in the Premier League. A native of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, the Spaniard spent his formative years in his homeland and graduated from fabled La Masia division at FC Barcelona. However, since then, he has spent most of his career in England.
Traore has represented Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Fulham, with his most productive spell coming with Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 29-year-old also spent some time on loan with Barcelona, but he could not secure a permanent move back to his boyhood club.
The Spanish international has contributed to only 17 goals in 66 appearances thus far for Fulham, scoring four times and providing 13 assists. However, Traore’s stock in the market is high, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.
Move across London on the horizon?
West Ham United’s interest in Adama Traore is understandable, even though they should sign a better player to reinforce the offensive unit. The Hammers are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window, as Nuno Espirito Santo wants more firepower in the final third.
Additionally, recent reports have claimed that Jarrod Bowen may depart from the London Stadium if results do not improve at the East London club. So, West Ham can do with a wide attacker, and Traore has emerged as a target, as Nuno Espirito Santo wants to reunite with the 29-year-old Spaniard.
However, Traore has not been productive enough in the final third throughout his spell in the Premier League, and the struggles have grown at Fulham. Nevertheless, the Spanish winger is a target, and it will be interesting to see if he moves across London by joining West Ham in the coming weeks.
