Crystal Palace in transfer tussle to sign Richarlison

Crystal Palace will reportedly look to sign 28-year-old Brazilian international Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur next year, with Flamengo also interested in him.

According to a report by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Richarlison is the subject of interest of Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker next year. So, the 28-year-old resurgent Tottenham Hotspur forward has emerged as a target for the South London club.

However, the 2024/25 FA Cup winners are not alone in the battle for the former Everton talisman’s signature, as he is also a target for Flamengo. Meanwhile, Tottenham will demand around £20-25 million to part ways with the versatile South American attacker.

Richarlison and his Tottenham transition

Richarlison has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Everton in July 2022. The 28-year-old was among the best players in the Premier League three years ago, and he moved to the North London club amid hype and fanfare surrounding him. However, the player struggled to make his mark apart from a few flashes of brilliance in his first three seasons at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Brazilian international may have finally started turning things around in the 2025/26 season, as he has amassed three goals and one assist in six appearances thus far. However, the former Everton attacker’s long-term future at Tottenham remains uncertain, and Crystal Palace may attempt to secure his services next year.

Move across London on the horizon?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Richarlison is understandable. The Eagles are scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the next two transfer windows. While the 2024/25 FA Cup winners were impressive in the summer transfer window and signed Yeremy Pino and Christantus Uche, they can do with more quality in the final third.

The Tottenham attacker has thus emerged as a viable target, and his versatility makes him an appealing target for Crystal Palace. However, the South London club will face stiff competition from Flamengo for his signature, and recent reports have claimed that Tottenham may cash in on him due to financial reasons.

Ekrem Konur has suggested that Tottenham will demand £20-25 million to part ways with the 28-year-old Brazilian international. Tottenham’s asking price makes the former Everton star an appealing market opportunity, and it will be interesting to see how Crystal Palace and Flamengo proceed in the coming weeks.
