Chelsea links with Maroan Sannadi rubbished

Chelsea have reportedly been linked with a move for Athletic Club attacker Maroan Sannadi in the last few days.

According to a report from Africa Foot, Chelsea have no chance of signing Maroan Sannadi in the January transfer window. The Spanish outfit do not want to weaken their squad midway through the season, and they will not sanction his departure.

The Moroccan international has done quite well in La Liga, and there is no doubt that he would be an excellent addition for Chelsea as well. However, the opportunity to move to the London club might not be ideal for the player. They have Liam Delap and Joao Pedro as the first-choice strikers at the club.

The 24-year-old will not want to sit on the bench at a big club. Sannadi needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and he should look to continue in Spain with Athletic Club. He is a key player for them and regular football in Spain will help him improve further. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to move on to other targets.

Do Chelsea need Sannadi?

Chelsea have done well to improve the attacking unit during the summer transfer window and ideally, they should look to add more quality and depth to the defensive unit now. Investing in another striker may not make a lot of sense, especially midway through the season. Chelsea will be hoping to do well in the Premier League this season and they will look to push for trophies.

The Blues have recently won the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League. Chelsea are a team on the up, and they will look to continue building on their recent progress. Enzo Maresca will hope to get the best out of his new signings this season. They have brought in multiple attacking players to improve the striking unit and the wide areas.

Meanwhile, Sannadi will look to continue his impressive start to the season with the Spanish club and perform at a high level. The 24-year-old is still quite young, and he will have plenty of opportunities to join a big club in the future. However, he needs to choose his next destination carefully amid his links with Chelsea.
