Tottenham Hotspur will demand around €80 million to part ways with 24-year-old Dutch defender Micky van de Ven next year amid links with Real Madrid.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Micky van de Ven is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a centre-back next year. So, the 24-year-old Tottenham Hotspur defender has emerged as a target for Los Blancos.
Recent reports have claimed that the North London club will aim to tie the Dutchman to a bumper new contract to thwart Real Madrid. However, the latest update has revealed that Tottenham will demand €80 million to part ways with van de Ven, hoping to ward off Los Blancos.
Micky van de Ven and his Tottenham spell so far
Micky van de Ven has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League since joining Tottenham Hotspur from VfL Wolfsburg in August 2023. A native of Wormer, the 24-year-old spent his formative years in the Netherlands, starting his youth career at WSV ’30 Wormer before graduating from the youth division at FC Volendam. However, he rose in prominence during his spell in the Bundesliga.
The Dutch defender has made over 50 appearances thus far for Tottenham while chipping in with four goals and two assists. While van de Ven has struggled with fitness issues in the last 12 months, his stock in the market is high. Real Madrid will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature next year.
Real Madrid move on the horizon?
Micky van de Ven has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are on the wrong side of 30. Additionally, Eder Militao has recovered from two long-term knee injuries in as many seasons, leaving his long-term fitness situation uncertain.
Several candidates have thus emerged on Real Madrid’s radar, with van de Ven also a viable target. The latest report has revealed that Tottenham will demand around €80 million to part ways with the 24-year-old Dutchman, hoping to ward off Los Blancos with the valuation.
It is unclear if Real Madrid will be open to paying €80 million to sign van de Ven. With Tottenham also interested in tying the Dutch defender to a new contract, a move to the Santiago Bernabeu may not see the light of day.
