Liverpool will reportedly pursue 23-year-old Bayern Munich attacker Michael Olise to replace Mohamed Salah next summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Michael Olise is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Reds are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile wide attacker next summer. So, the 23-year-old Bayern Munich attacking sensation has emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit.
The Premier League champions are preparing for life after Mohamed Salah amid rumours that the Egyptian international will depart from Anfield next summer by moving to the Saudi Pro League. So, Liverpool will pursue Olise, with the Frenchman already having considerable Premier League experience.
The rise and rise of Michael Olise
Michael Olise has established himself as one of the brightest young attacking prospects in the world in the last few years. The London-born winger spent his formative years in England and graduated from the youth division at Reading FC. However, the 23-year-old rose in prominence during his spell with Crystal Palace.
The French international, who picked Les Bleus as his national side last year, joined Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace in July 2024, and he has come leaps and bounds since then. Olise has made over 50 appearances thus far for Bayern Munich while chipping in with 24 goals and 23 assists. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with Liverpool among the prospective suitors vying for his signature ahead of next summer.
Premier League return on the horizon?
Michael Olise has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long time, with the Merseyside outfit pursuing his signature before he joined Crystal Palace. The continued interest makes sense, considering Mohamed Salah faces an uncertain future at Anfield heading into next summer’s transfer window.
The Egyptian international is approaching the twilight of his career, and he will enter the final 12 months of his contract next summer. So, Liverpool must plan for life after Salah, with Olise emerging as a viable target for the Premier League champions.
However, the Reds know it will not be straightforward to sign the 23-year-old French international from Bayern Munich next year. Olise is a pivotal figure for the Bavarian outfit, and Liverpool will face a tall order to secure his services as Salah’s long-term replacement.
