Leeds United will reportedly compete with Crystal Palace and West Ham United to sign 22-year-old Nigerian attacker Christantus Uche from La Liga club Getafe this summer.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Christantus Uche is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are scouring the market for a versatile attacker in the final days of the summer transfer window, with the 22-year-old Getafe forward a target. Wolverhampton Wanderers recently failed with their attempt to sign the African attacker, with Crystal Palace and West Ham United also vying for his signature.
Christantus Uche and his time at Getafe so far
Christantus Uche has been one of the most promising young attacking prospects in La Liga since joining Getafe from AD Ceuta last summer. The 22-year-old took no time to make his mark at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, and he enjoyed a solid debut season with the Azulones in the 2024/25 campaign. That has continued this term, with the player producing an excellent performance in the 2025/26 La Liga opener.
The Nigerian attacking midfielder has contributed to 13 goals in 40 outings thus far for Getafe, finding the back of the net five times and providing eight assists. Meanwhile, Uche’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known Premier League clubs. Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and West Ham United are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the final days of the summer transfer window.
A man in demand
Crystal Palace will dip into the market for a versatile attacker in the final days of the summer transfer window after selling Eberechi Eze to Arsenal. While Yeremy Pino is on the cusp of joining the South London club, Oliver Glasner wants more firepower in the final third. So, Uche is a viable target for Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Leeds United’s interest in Christantus Uche makes sense. The Whites are combing the market for a versatile and creative attacker this summer as they aim to sustain the daunting challenge of remaining in the Premier League beyond the 2025/26 season. So, the Getafe attacker is an option worth considering, with Leeds United swooping in for him after his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers collapsed this week.
As for West Ham United, Lucas Paqueta faces an uncertain future at the London Stadium in the final days of the summer transfer window. So, West Ham can do with a long-term replacement for the Brazilian international, with Uche emerging as a viable target.
The 22-year-old Nigerian international is available in the final days of the summer transfer window, as Getafe must sell players to make ends meet. So, it will be interesting to see if Leeds United can beat Crystal Palace and West Ham United to the 21-year-old Nigerian attacker’s signature.
