Tottenham increasingly confident about landing Savinho

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly optimistic about securing the services of Manchester City attacking sensation Savinho.

According to a report from TBR Football, Tottenham are increasingly confident about signing Savinho from Manchester City, having held further talks with Pep Guardiola’s team. The Brazilian international is keen on making the move, and City would let him leave for the right price.

Savinho made a name for himself during his loan spell at Girona. On the back of his exceptional performances, Manchester City signed the 21-year-old from Troyes last summer. Despite being a rotational option under Guardiola, he managed to earn the Spanish manager’s trust and had quite an impressive debut campaign.

The South American winger was involved in a total of 48 matches across competitions and finished with 16 goal contributions. His performances have put him on the radar of Tottenham, who seek more quality on the flanks.

While the youngster still has four years left on his deal, and Guardiola wants to have him in his squad, City would be open to his departure if their demands are met. Tottenham are keen on signing the 21-year-old. They seek more quality on the left flank following the departure of Son Heung-min. With James Maddison out injured, they were pushing hard to secure Eberechi Eze’s services, but Arsenal have hijacked the deal.

Tottenham closing in on Savinho’s signature

Now, Daniel Levy is under pressure to sign a new attacker, and Savinho is quite high on their list. The player is open to a move to the North London club as he feels playing week in week out is needed to push for a place in the Brazil squad for the World Cup next summer.

Of late, Tottenham have been making moves to sign the young winger. Following their 2-0 win over City, they held talks with the Manchester-based giants’ top officials. The North London club made further enquiries for Savinho, who remains their top target heading into the final week of the window.

Spurs are willing to splash the cash on him, and they are now increasingly confident about getting a deal done before the deadline, following further talks with City.
