Aaron Anselmino is on the verge of joining Borussia Dortmund on loan; but the deal depends on Carney Chukwuemeka’s permanent move to the Bundesliga club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Aaron Anselmino is expected to join Borussia Dortmund on a temporary basis in the coming days. While the Bundesliga giants have everything in place to sign the Chelsea defensive sensation, the move will only go through once they sign Carney Chukwuemeka on a permanent basis.
Anselmino came up the ranks at Boca Juniors. He made quite a name for himself on his way to the first team. His impressive rise resulted in a move to Chelsea last summer. While the Blues secured his services in the summer, they decided to let him continue at the Argentine club until the end of the year.
The 20-year-old has only featured in one first-team fixture since moving to Stamford Bridge. While the youngster is quite highly rated by people at the club, he is unlikely to have much first-team action in the 2025/26 season. As a result, the Blues have been open to a loan departure.
Borussia Dortmund are on the lookout for more quality and depth at the back. The Bundesliga giants really like Anselmino, and they have approached the London club regarding a potential loan deal. The Black and Yellows have struck a deal with Chelsea on a straightforward loan deal, without any buy clause.
Chukwuemeka and Anselmino’s futures are intertwined
Aaron Anselmino has also given the green light to the loan move, but the Blues have informed Borussia Dortmund that the move will only go through once they sign Carney Chukwuemeka on a permanent basis.
The 21-year-old midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at the Bundesliga club. He put in quite a few impressive performances, and Borussia Dortmund are keen on acquiring his services.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are ready to sell as he is surplus to requirements. Both clubs are in talks regarding a potential transfer. Once they reach an agreement on Chukwuemeka’s permanent move, the Blues will approve Anselmino’s loan move.
The English midfielder is pushing to join Borussia Dortmund, and as things stand, both players should be a part of the German club in the near future.
