Besiktas eyeing Raheem Sterling swoop, player wants Premier League stay amid Fulham links

Turkish giants Besiktas are keen on signing Raheem Sterling, who wants to continue in the Premier League, amidst interest from Fulham.

According to a report from Fotospor, Besiktas are interested in acquiring the services of Raheem Sterling as they look to reinforce their attack before the end of their transfer window. The Turkish giants are aware of his availability and are closely monitoring his situation before making a move.

Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City back in 2022. While he was an important first-team player in the initial years, the 30-year-old has gone down the pecking order under Enzo Maresca.

He spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Arsenal. While Mikel Arteta was keen on having him in his squad, the move didn’t work out. He is back at his parent club and still has two years left on his deal, but he has no future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are pushing to offload Sterling

Chelsea are pushing hard to get him off the books. The player is also keen on making a move away. Both parties prefer a permanent departure, but another loan move is not being ruled out, given his massive wages.

Sterling wants to continue in England, preferably in London, where his family is settled, and Fulham could offer him that opportunity. The Cottagers seek more quality on the flanks, and they are in talks with Chelsea over a potential loan deal.

Besiktas are waiting in the wings

While the 30-year-old prefers the Premier League, he is also open to other opportunities. Besiktas have emerged as another potential destination for the English international. The Turkish giants are looking to bolster their attack by signing Jadon Sancho and Sterling.

They are keen to have him in their squad but are waiting to see how negotiations between Chelsea and Fulham unfold. Sterling, however, would prefer a move to the Cottagers if they can strike a deal with the Blues.

Maresca’s side favour Besiktas instead, as the Turkish club are ready to sign him permanently. Chelsea could offload him by paying a small compensation fee.
