Crystal Palace unlikely to sign Christos Tzolis this summer

Crystal Palace will unlikely sign 23-year-old Greek winger Christos Tzolis from Belgian outfit Club Brugge in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Belgian outlet Voetbal Nieuws, Christos Tzolis is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are eager to bolster their offensive unit by signing a versatile wide attacker in the summer transfer window as they prepare to part ways with Eberechi Eze. So, the 23-year-old Club Brugge winger has emerged as a target for the South London outfit.

The 2024/25 FA Cup winners recently intensified their efforts to sign the Thessaloniki native in the summer transfer window by submitting a bid worth €32 million to Club Brugge. However, the Belgian giants have turned down the proposal, as they do not want to part ways with Tzolis. So, Crystal Palace will unlikely land the player’s signature this summer.

Who is Christos Tzolis?

Greece has produced many promising prodigies in the last few years, and Christos Tzolis is the latest prospect from his homeland to rise in prominence. The 23-year-old spent most of his formative years in Greece and graduated from the youth division at hometown club PAOK Thessaloniki. However, the youngster has risen in prominence during his spell with Club Brugge.

The Greek international has been with Club Brugge since last summer, and he has contributed to 44 goals in 64 outings thus far by finding the back of the net 24 times and providing 20 assists. Meanwhile, Tzolis’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Crystal Palace will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

London calling?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Christos Tzolis makes sense. The Eagles are on the cusp of parting ways with Eberechi Eze, who will soon join Arsenal after the Gunners secured the agreement to sign him in a deal worth over £60 million. So, Crystal Palace must scour the market for a versatile attacker, with several candidates emerging on the South London club’s wishlist.

Recent reports have linked Crystal Palace with Bilal El Khannouss, and Tzolis is also a viable target. The Club Brugge winger’s qualities make him the ideal foil for Ismaila Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta. However, Crystal Palace’s opening bid worth €32 million did not convince Club Brugge, with the Belgian outfit ready to reject all offers for him.

The Belgian giants do not want to part ways with the 23-year-old Greek international in the summer transfer window. So, Crystal Palace will unlikely sign Tzolis from Club Brugge and must look elsewhere for a replacement for Eze.
