FC Porto eyeing Oleksandr Zinchenko move, Fenerbahce table bid

FC Porto and Fenerbahce are reportedly interested in signing 28-year-old Ukrainian international Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Oleksandr Zinchenko is the subject of interest from FC Porto. The Portuguese giants are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a versatile and technically-adept player. So, the 28-year-old Arsenal utility man has emerged as a target for the Primeira Liga outfit, and they have established contact with the North London outfit.

Arsenal will demand around £15 million to part ways with Zinchenko in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, according to a report by Sabah, as relayed by Sport Witness, the former Manchester City utility man is a target for Fenerbahce. Jose Mourinho wants to utilise the experienced footballer as a midfielder, and the Turkish Super Lig bigwigs have submitted a bid to sign him on loan in the summer transfer window.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and his Arsenal career so far

Oleksandr Zinchenko has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Arsenal from Manchester City in July 2022. While the 28-year-old was impressive in his debut season with Arsenal and became a utility man for the North London outfit due to his versatility, he has fallen in the pecking order since then.

The Ukrainian international managed only 789 minutes of game time across 23 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with one goal and one assist. However, Zinchenko’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. FC Porto and Fenerbahce are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.

A man in demand

FC Porto’s interest in Oleksandr Zinchenko is understandable. The Portuguese giants are combing the market for a versatile and technically-proficient footballer to reinforce multiple positions in the first-team squad. So, the Arsenal utility man has emerged as a viable target for FC Porto.

As for Fenerbahce, the Turkish Super Lig heavyweights want to bolster their midfield unit in the summer transfer window, having also mulled over securing Douglas Luiz’s services. Jose Mourinho wants to utilise Zinchenko as a midfielder instead of a left-back, with the Yellow Canaries submitting a bid to sign him on loan.

The Turkish club’s offer contains a loan fee with a purchase option that falls short of Arsenal’s asking price of £15 million. Meanwhile, with FC Porto establishing contact over a possible summer move, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 28-year-old Ukrainian international.
