Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Brazilian international Savinho from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Football Insider, Savinho is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are eager to bolster their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the summer transfer window after parting ways with Son Heung-min. So, the 21-year-old Manchester City whizkid has emerged as a target for the North London club.
The 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners have advanced talks to secure his services, having already submitted a bid worth €50 million to sign the South American attacker in the summer transfer window. However, Manchester City will demand around €70 million to part ways with the young winger, as per a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Savinho and his Manchester City journey so far
Savinho has made his mark since joining Manchester City from Troyes last summer. While the 21-year-old has not scored as many goals as he would have liked, his creative output was impressive in his debut season with Manchester City. The highly-rated winger has amassed three goals and 13 assists in 48 appearances thus far for Manchester City.
Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has helped him break into his national side, and he has turned out 13 times thus far for Brazil. The Brazilian winger’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Tottenham Hotspur will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the summer transfer window.
London calling?
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Savinho makes sense. The Lilywhites are combing the market for a wide attacker this summer amid uncertainties surrounding Richarlison’s long-term future. The former Everton talisman has been inconsistent since moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a few years ago, and his compatriot is a viable target to replace him.
Additionally, Tottenham will seek a long-term replacement for Son Heung-min from the market after the veteran South Korean attacker joined LAFC last week. So, the Manchester City whizkid has emerged as a viable target, with the North London outfit advancing the negotiations to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Recent reports have claimed that Manchester City will be reluctant to part ways with the 21-year-old Brazilian winger in the summer transfer window. However, they have set a price tag of over €70 million to consider a summer sale. It will be interesting to see how talks between City and Tottenham progress in the coming days.
