Arsenal front-runners to sign Eberechi Eze

Arsenal are leading the race for Eberechi Eze and are ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.

According to Caught Offside, Eberechi Eze’s race pick-up momentum as the next phase could decide the outcome of the Crystal Palace star’s future. Arsenal are currently leading the race and are willing to play the waiting game as they are ahead of the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United.

Arsenal have had a tremendous summer window so far, adding six first-team players, including the most recent arrival, Viktor Gyokeres. With Mikel Arteta’s side now more or less complete, the manager still feels the need to add another option on the left-hand side to bring in creativity and potential goalscoring prowess.

The Gunners have earmarked Eberechi Eze as a big target and could begin their operation in the upcoming phase. There’s still a long way to go before the window ends, so there’s plenty of time to get the deal over the line. Arsenal might need a sale to balance the squad, with Leandro Trossard seen as someone who could depart.

Meanwhile, many reports in recent weeks have indicated that Arsenal were in active dialogue with Eze’s camp. The playmaker, who scored and assisted 25 times across all competitions, may have an informal agreement in place with the Gunners. Palace are demanding the £68 million written into the attacker’s contract, which also includes add-ons.

Arsenal are leading the race as things stand, although they face competition from the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United. The latter clubs had contacted the 25 G/A playmaker’s camp earlier, but there have been no active links at this moment.

Eberechi Eze could be vital for Arsenal

Further reports are suggesting Eze would be open to joining Arsenal, with the player a part of their academy many years ago. Arteta seeks a new option on the left-hand side of the attack, as he envisions Eze as someone to provide competition for Gabriel Martinelli. There’s also the possibility of including Reiss Nelson, although the winger is now closing in on a move to rejoining Fulham.

The Gunners are seemingly prepared to meet the release clause by paying £30 million up front and the rest in reasonable installments. Meanwhile, the Gunners are not rushing to get a deal done, although Arteta would ideally like the player in the squad at the earliest. Palace are looking at options like Bilal El-Khannouss as a potential replacement for Eze, as Arsenal are open to getting a move in place once the Eagles secure someone in Eze’s place.
