Enzo Fernandez keen on sealing Real Madrid switch

Bayer Leverkusen vs SC Freiburg: Preview and Prediction.

Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Chelsea midfield mainstay Enzo Fernandez.

Xabi Alonso is pushing Real Madrid to sign a new world-class midfielder this summer. The Spanish manager wants to bring in someone who can help him have total control of the pace of the game. According to a report from Fichajes, Los Blancos are interested in Enzo Fernandez’s signature.

The Spanish giants have received a massive boost in their pursuit as the Chelsea mainstay is keen on making the move to Madrid. He has given the green light to move to Real Madrid, and now the team in white will have to negotiate with the Blues, who have no intentions of selling one of their best players.

Fernandez came up the ranks at River Plate and made a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining Benfica in the summer of 2022. Just six months later, Chelsea came in and broke the bank to sign the Argentine international.

The 2022 World Cup winner has only gone from strength to strength since joining the Blues. The 24-year-old has done wonders for both club and country, and he is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world. His consistent performances have put him on the radar of Real Madrid, who seek more quality in midfield.

Fernandez wants Real Madrid move

Xabi Alonso isn’t really pleased with the midfield options at his disposal. He wants to bring in more creativity and a dynamic twist to his midfield. The Spanish manager considers Fernandez an ideal partner for Aurelien Tchouaméni in a double pivot.

It would allow their creative player more freedom in the final third, and at the same time, they would be able to better control the tempo of the game. Los Blancos seems to have established contact with the player as he has reportedly given them the green light.

Fernandez is keen on making the move; as a result, Madrid’s board are preparing an offer worth €150 million. They hope it could help convince the Blues to sell one of their mainstays. The transfer will be funded by the likely departure of Rodrygo Goes, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fran Garcia.

While it is a significant financial offer, Chelsea are not really keen on selling one of their stars. With his contract running until 2032, the Blues are certainly in the driving seat.
