Chelsea could open the doors for Nicolas Jackson’s exit this summer, with Manchester United one of those likely to show an interest.
According to TBR, Chelsea could finally signal the end of Nicolas Jackson’s time at the club as they might be willing to sell the Senegalese international. The arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro could render the striker surplus to requirements, with Manchester United considering him as an option for their centre-forward position.
Chelsea have been aggressive in the window with their attacking signings. The likes of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro have already arrived, while there’s intense talk of Xavi Simons making the move. A a result, Noni Madueke has already left for Arsenal, while Nicolas Jackson could be the next in line for a departure.
Jackson has not had the most prolific time at the club, and there have been some disciplinary issues circling over him like a dark cloud. However, the main reason why Chelsea are open to parting ways with the Senegalese striker is possibly due to the arrivals of Delao and Pedro.
The duo might get regular game time, with Jackson likely to be consigned to a prominent role on the bench as a backup player. While those conditions might not suit the 24-year-old Chelsea attacker, as he could potentially look for a way out, something the Blues will back him with.
There have been some clubs keen on the striker, including Manchester United, with Ruben Amorim keen ot bring a new striker for his squad. They have already failed in the pursuits of Delap as well as Viktor Gyokeres, as the 24-year-old Chelsea attacker could be seen as a viable candidate to fill the No.9 role.
Manchester United to sign Nicolas Jackson?
Manchester United are eager to strengthen their attacking setup further after the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in this window. Amorim is unhappy with the performances of his current strikers Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, with talk of a departure for the latter already rife.
Either way, the Portuguese manager seeks a new option that combines goalscoring prowess as well as playing to his methods. Jackson could potentially fulfill that role well, although any move for the 24-year-old Chelsea attacker will depend on the asking price.
