Rodrigo Muniz settled at Fulham amid Leeds United links

Leeds United have received a massive blow in their pursuit of Fulham attacking sensation Rodrigo Muniz following their £32 million bid.

According to a report from Football Insider, Rodrigo Muniz has no intention of leaving Fulham this summer. The Brazilian striker is happy at the club amidst interest from newly-promoted Leeds United.

While the Yorkshire-based club are quite keen on adding him to their squad and even tabled an offer, they have suffered a blow as Fulham are reluctant to sell, and the player is happy to continue at the London club.

Rodrigo Muniz came up the ranks and made a name for himself at Flamengo before joining the Cottagers in the summer of 2021. While the Brazilian striker hardly got any game time in the initial years, he has managed to work his way into Marco Silva’s plans.

Last season, the 24-year-old was involved in a total of 36 matches across competitions. He racked up just over 1,300 minutes of first-team action and ended up contributing towards 13 goals. His impressive performances and massive potential have put him on the radar of quite a few clubs.

Leeds United, who are gearing up for their return to the top flight, are keen on signing the Brazilian striker. Daniel Farke’s team are desperately looking to add more goals to their squad. They feel Muniz could be a marquee signing for them.

Leeds United fail with an attempt to sign Muniz

Not only can Rodrigo Muniz help them survive in the Premier League, but he could prove to be a great acquisition in the long run. As a result, Leeds United tabled an offer worth around £32 million including add-ons. But the Cottagers have already turned it down.

The West London outfit have no intention of selling the young striker as he is considered just the ideal candidate to take over from Raul Jimenez as their main man up top. Meanwhile, Muniz is also happy at the club, which makes it even more difficult for Leeds.

The West Yorkshire outfit could return with an improved offer, but it is believed only a massive package can convince Marco Silva’s team to sell one of their most promising players. While his current deal runs out in 2026, Fulham do have an option to extend it for another 12 months. As things stand, Leeds might have to look at other alternatives as Fulham are not looking to sell Muniz, and even he is content at the club.
