Sunderland want £35 million for Chris Rigg, keen on keeping him

Sunderland midfielder Chris Rigg has been linked with a move away from the newly promoted Premier League club in recent months.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Crystal Palace are keen on signing Chris Rigg. However, Sunderland do not want to sell the highly-rated midfielder this summer, and they will demand a substantial asking price of £35 million for their midfield prodigy.

It will be interesting to see if any of the Premier League clubs are willing to come forward and pay over the odds for him. Even though the teenage sensation is a tremendous talent with a bright future, he has done nothing to justify the £35 million valuation. It is evident that Sunderland are looking to price him higher so that they can keep him at the club.

Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United have done well to groom talented young players over the years, and they could help Chris Rigg fulfil his tremendous potential in the coming seasons. The opportunity to join some of the biggest clubs in the world will be quite exciting for the player as well. However, the £35 million asking price will be a roadblock in any potential move.

Crystal Palace keen on Rigg

Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on Chris Rigg as well. They have done well to bring in talented young players over the years and groom them into established first-team stars. The Eagles could lose Eberechi Eze during the summer transfer window, and Rigg would be a quality long-term investment for them.

The South London club have previously signed Adam Wharton from the Championship, and he has developed into a key player for them in the Premier League. They will hope that Chris Rigg can follow in his footsteps and establish himself as an important player for the Eagles after gaining all his experience thus far in the second division.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. There is no doubt that all four Premier League clubs have the resources to pay £35 million for the midfielder, but they might want to sign him for a more reasonable fee. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds over the next few weeks.

Even if Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Crystal Palace have to pay a premium for him now, the player has the quality to justify the investment in future. He would be a long-term asset for them, and the deal could look like a bargain in future.
