Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo has reportedly decided to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window, dealing a blow to Arsenal and Newcastle United.
According to a report by David Ornstein of The Athletic, Bryan Mbeumo is the subject of interest from Manchester United. Arsenal and Newcastle United are also keen on signing the Brentford attacker in the summer transfer window. However, the Cameroonian international wants to join the Red Devils, and they will soon open talks with the Bees over a move.
Bryan Mbeumo and his soaring stock
Bryan Mbeumo has seen his stock skyrocket since joining Brentford from Troyes in August 2019. The Bees were in the EFL Championship when the Avallon-born attacker moved to the Gtech Community Stadium, and he has delivered the goods in every competition for the West London club.
The 25-year-old was exceptional in the 2024/25 season, contributing to 29 goals in 42 outings across all competitions, finding the back of the net 20 times and providing nine assists. Meanwhile, Mbeumo’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League bigwigs, including Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Manchester United.
A man in demand
The Cameroonian international has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time. The continued interest in Mbeumo makes sense, considering the offensive unit’s over-dependence on Bukayo Saka. So, the Brentford attacker has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United’s interest in Bryan Mbeumo is understandable. The Tyneside outfit did not replace Miguel Almiron in January after selling the Paraguayan international to Atlanta United. So, the Magpies will dip their toes in the market for a wide attacker, with the Brentford forward being an option worth considering.
However, the French-born attacker has chosen to join Manchester United in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have already bolstered their offensive unit by signing Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, Manchester United will continue the attacking reinforcement by signing Mbeumo.
With the 25-year-old Cameroonian international deciding to join Manchester United, negotiations with Brentford will begin soon. In addition, they are in talks with Mbeumo, and an agreement may be on the cards between the three parties in the coming weeks.
