AC Milan considering Destiny Udogie swoop

AC Milan will reportedly look to sign 22-year-old Italian international Destiny Udogie from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Corriere della Sera, as relayed by Sport Witness, Destiny Udogie is the subject of interest from AC Milan. The Serie A giants are scouring the market for a new left-back heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Theo Hernandez’s long-term future. So, the Tottenham wide player has emerged as one of the options for the Rossoneri.

Apart from Udogie, Junior Firpo and Maxim De Cuyper are also on AC Milan’s wishlist. So, amid Hernandez’s links with Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal and the struggles to secure an agreement over a new contract, the Rossoneri can do with a new left-back in the summer transfer window.

Destiny Udogie and his English adventure so far

Destiny Udogie has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Tottenham Hotspur from Udinese in August 2022. A native of Verona, the youngster has come leaps and bounds but has also been prone to inconsistency at the North London club. The 22-year-old has turned out over 50 times thus far for Tottenham while chipping in with two goals and four assists.

Meanwhile, the Italian international has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe with his progress at Tottenham. Recent reports have linked Udogie with Manchester City. However, AC Milan will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Serie A return on the horizon?

AC Milan’s interest in Destiny Udogie makes sense. The Serie A giants are keen on reinforcing their left-back unit in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Theo Hernandez’s long-term future. The French international is a target for Al-Hilal, and he may leave AC Milan in the coming weeks.

In addition, AC Milan recently failed to secure an agreement with Hernandez over a new contract due to a difference in wage valuation. So, several candidates have emerged on the Serie A club’s radar, with Udogie also a viable target. However, the 22-year-old Italian international will not come cheap, with the report suggesting a price tag of €50 million.

However, convincing Tottenham to part ways with the young full-back may be a tall order, with recent reports claiming the Lilywhites do not want to part ways with him. So, it will be interesting to see what the future has in store for Udogie.
