Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea are in talks with Juventus as they look to sign their Turkish attacking sensation Kenan Yildiz.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Chelsea are keen on acquiring the services of Kenan Yildiz as they look to reinforce their attack ahead of next season. The Blues are already in talks with Juventus and are determined to step up their pursuit of his signature.
Yildiz has only gone from strength to strength since making the move from Bayern Munich’s youth setup to Juventus back in 2022. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the Old Lady’s first team towards the end of 2023.
While the youngster had a decent role under Thiago Motta during the first half of the season, his game time has taken a massive jump since the arrival of Igor Tudor. The 19-year-old winger has contributed towards a total of 13 goals this season.
Chelsea plot a raid on Juventus for Yildiz
The Turkish international prefers playing on the left flank but is capable enough to feature on the right as well as a number ten. His performances have put him on the radar of Chelsea, who are always on the lookout for young players with massive potential.
While Enzo Maresca has done a great job at the West London club, he is still looking for quality and experience. The Italian manager wants more options on the flanks and the club seem ready to raid Juventus for the signature of Kenan Yildiz.
They consider him an ideal fit for the present as well as the long run. The Blues are already in talks with Juventus and they are not looking to accelerate negotiations both with the player and his camp. While Yildiz seems quite content at the Turin-based club, Chelsea’s interest could change his plans.
Juventus are well aware of Yildiz’s massive potential, and they have him tied to a contract that runs until 2029. While he is a key part of their plans moving ahead, the Old Lady are aware of the fact that they will find it very difficult to hold onto him amidst interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
As a result, the Turin-based club are keen to offer him a new and improved deal to secure his future. However, Juventus are in a difficult financial position and may need to sell players to fund any potential transfers this summer.
In their bid to remain competitive at the top level, they could be forced to part ways with some key names, and Yildiz might be one of them. If Chelsea present a significant financial offer for the young winger, Juventus might cash in on him as it could help their project as a whole.
