West Ham United are ready to cash in on Mohammed Kudus in the summer to help Graham Potter in building his squad.
According to TBR, West Ham United might be open to selling Mohammed Kudus in the summer to help Graham Potter with funds for his squad building. The Ghanaian attacker was signed in a £40 million deal two years ago, and while he has not excelled this season, his overall quality makes him a valuable asset to the club.
Mohammed Kudus may not have big numbers to show for his talent this season which has been a bit disruptive for his taste. The Ghanaian attacker is one of the key players for West Ham since his £40 million arrival from Ajax, although his future could be away from the club.
A host of clubs are interested, with the attacker’s £80 million release clause a big problem for many to further their admiration of the player. Liverpool boss Arne Slot recently praised Kudus and his talent. While the Reds are in the market for a new wide attacker, they are unlikely to pay the release clause as they value him at a lesser price point.
Arsenal are also interested, although they are among a host of clubs unwilling to trigger his £80 million release clause. The Gunners have held admiration of the attacker since his time at Ajax, and at the time of his £40 million move to West Ham, they may have exhausted their funds in that particular window.
He’s certainly an option for the Gunners or Liverpool to consider if the price comes down. The report states some of the interested sides do not value Kudus at more than £50 million, and given he’s one of the most valued assets at the London Stadium, West Ham are unlikely to entertain offers around that region.
West Ham ready to sell Mohammed Kudus
West Ham are reportedly open to the prospect of selling Kudus in the summer, with the £40 million West Ham star likely to bring some much-needed funds to help build Graham Potter’s squad in the transfer market. It remains to be seen whether the Hammers are adamant about the release clause, or if they will reduce the asking rate to a certain degree.
The report also mentions the possibility of Saudi Arabian interest in the £40 million West Ham star, as the Middle Easterners are likely in a better capacity to pay close to that £80 million mark. The Saudi Pro League were keen on the Ghanaian as well as Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma in the winter window, as they could potentially return with an offer in the summer.
