Arsenal and Manchester City reportedly sent scouts to watch Eintracht Frankfurt trio Nathaniel Brown, Hugo Larsson, and Hugo Ekitike against Tottenham this week.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Arsenal and Manchester City are keen on signing Nathaniel Brown, Hugo Larsson, and Hugo Ekitike. The trio was in action when Eintracht Frankfurt locked horns with Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League earlier this week.
Nathaniel Brown, Hugo Larsson, Hugo Ekitike: A key Eintracht Frankfurt trio
Nathaniel Brown has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since joining Eintracht Frankfurt. The 21-year-old has been with Die Adler since January 2024, initially completing a loan move before sealing a permanent deal in the subsequent summer transfer window. He has turned out 26 times thus far this term while chipping in with three goals and five assists.
As for Hugo Larsson, the Swede has been with the Bundesliga club since July 2023, coming leaps and bounds in the last two seasons. The 20-year-old has turned out 78 times thus far for the Eagles while chipping in with eight goals and three assists. Meanwhile, Hugo Ekitike has resurrected his stuttering fortunes since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain.
Die Adler completed the permanent move for the Frenchman last summer, and he has amassed 20 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions this term. Meanwhile, the trio’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal and Manchester City among the prospective suitors vying for their signatures heading into the summer transfer window.
Men in demand
Arsenal’s interest in Nathaniel Brown, Hugo Larsson, and Hugo Ekitike makes sense. With Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko facing an uncertain future at the Emirates, the Gunners can do with a new left-back. Meanwhile, Larsson can replace Thomas Partey and Jorginho, while Ekitike can end Arsenal’s search for a striker.
As for Manchester City, it is unclear why Ekitike is a target after signing Omar Marmoush in the winter transfer window. However, Larsson can replace Ilkay Gundogan or Bernardo Silva amid uncertainties surrounding the duo’s future. Finally, Brown is a viable target amid Manchester City’s search for a new left-back.
Brown is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, with the two London clubs monitoring him in the UEFA Europa League clash earlier this week. So, it will be interesting to see if the trio will end their stints in the Bundesliga to join a Premier League club this summer.
