Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Juventus-linked striker Victor Osimhen has made a decision on his future.
According to a report from ESPN, Victor Osimhen wants to move to the Premier League or join Italian giants, Juventus, this summer. It is almost certain that he will be parting ways with Napoli once he returns from his loan spell at Galatasaray, and his future will certainly be one of the biggest talking points.
Osimhen was one of the first names on Napoli’s team sheet a few seasons back, and he even helped them end their wait for the Serie A title. But, his relationship with the Naples-based club have completely broken down.
The Nigerian international was expected to be on the move last summer, but a deal couldn’t be struck in time. As a result, he ended up joining the Turkish giants Galatasaray on a season-long loan. The 26-year-old has been doing wonders for them, having bagged 28 goals and six assists in his 32 outings.
Victor Osimhen’s future to be decided in the summer
Since it is a straightforward loan spell, the Nigerian international will be back at his parent club in the summer. But he has no future at Napoli, and clubs are gearing up to make a move for the former LOSC Lille star, who will be available for €65 million (revised clause which was agreed upon before his move to Turkiye).
Victor Osimhen is eager to move to the Premier League, but he would be open to staying in Serie A if given the chance to join Juventus. His decision is a massive boost for Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus, who have all been linked with the 26-year-old.
The Turin-based club could part ways with Dusan Vlahovic this summer, and Osimhen could prove to be an ideal replacement. Given his performances for Napoli back in the day, the Old Lady could look at him as an upgrade on the Serbian striker.
Osimhen to move to the Premier League?
Meanwhile, Chelsea have a long-standing interest in the Nigerian striker. They wanted to sign Victor Osimhen last summer and could return for his signature in the summer, even though Nicolas Jackson has been doing a great job in the final third. With Chelsea looking to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, Enzo Maresca will certainly look for more firepower to help him take the next step.
Manchester United also seek more quality in the final third as Ruben Amorim is not convinced that Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee could lead the line for them going ahead. He is a part of their wishlist alongside Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, who could be a much better budget-friendly option for them.
Osimhen will look for around €11 million a year after tax, and it could be a massive red flag for the Red Devils, who are actively trying to bring down their wage bill this summer. Arsenal will certainly be in the market for a new striker, as Mikel Arteta has been forced to deploy Mikel Merino in that role.
While the midfielder has done a great job, Arsenal need a prominent goalscorer. The Gunners have been linked with Victor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, and they are believed to be interested in the Napoli striker as well.
