Galatasaray are eying a move for Manchester City veteran Ilkay Gundogan, who may become available on a free transfer in the summer.
According to Fanatik, Galatasaray have set sights on a Bosman move for Ilkay Gundogan in the summer. The Manchester City veteran could be set for a departure from the Etihad as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season and his future is uncertain.
Manchester City could be heading for a summer window with plenty of changes on their mind and a plan to overhaul some fundamental positions of the squad. One of them could be the midfield area, as Pep Guardiola is extremely unhappy with how things have panned out in the middle this season.
Kevin De Bruyne is set to leave the club, while Ilkay Gundogan could depart alongside the Belgian in the summer. Both their contracts expire in the summer, with the club showing no signs of handing an extension to the German midfielder.
The January arrival of Nico Gonzalez was the first sign from Guardiola about a midfield overhaul, with Gundogan likely to be the first of the lot to leave the club. The Manchester City boss probably views another addition to his current options of Gonzalez, Matheus Nunes, Rodri and Mateo Kovacic.
There are links to Adam Wharton although the Crystal Palace star will be an expensive acquisition for Manchester City or any other suitors. Meanwhile, they are already in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Larsson, as a move for the Swede might be much cheaper than Wharton.

Gundogan has ties to Turkey from his family and has been linked with a move there in the past. However, with his time at Manchester City likely to end in the summer, he might look more favourably to the Super League there and consider Galatasaray’s interest in him.
The Turkish champions have a good recent track record of attracting some top talents and that may work out in their pursuit of Gundogan ahead of the summer. The idea here is to bring the player, who still has plenty to give to the game and make their team stronger than ever. They will potentially lose Victor Osimhen at the end of the season and could view Gundogan as their next star addition, as the midfielder must decide.
