Ligue 1 giants Marseille will reportedly demand around €30-35 million to part ways with 23-year-old Brazilian winger Luis Henrique amid his links with Newcastle United.
According to a report by Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Luis Henrique is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. Nottingham Forest, Bayer Leverkusen, and Inter Milan are also keen on signing the Marseille winger in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Ligue 1 giants will demand around €30-35 million to part ways with the Brazilian attacker.
Who is Luis Henrique?
Luis Henrique has established himself as one of the best young prospects in Ligue 1 since joining Marseille from Tres Passos. A native of João Pessoa, the South American attacker spent his formative years in his homeland, graduating from the youth division at Tres Passos.
However, the 23-year-old had to wait until the ongoing campaign to enjoy his breakthrough at the Ligue 1 club. The highly-rated winger has contributed to 16 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net nine times and providing seven assists.
Meanwhile, Henrique’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. European bigwigs like Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan are also keen on signing the Brazilian winger. However, Newcastle United will aim to beat the competition to his signature in the summer transfer window.
A man in demand
Newcastle United’s interest in Luis Henrique is understandable. The Tyneside outfit parted ways with Miguel Almiron in the winter transfer window but chose not to replace him in the same window. So, Newcastle United should dip into the market for a wide attacker this summer, with Henrique emerging as a viable target.
Other candidates, including Assane Diao, have emerged on Newcastle United’s radar. However, the Magpies now know how much the Marseille winger will cost, with the Ligue 1 outfit demanding around €30-35 million to part ways with him in the summer transfer window. However, the Tyneside club will face stiff competition from several well-known clubs.
Nottingham Forest, Bayer Leverkusen, and Inter Milan are also keen on signing the Brazilian winger. The Serie A champions have already initiated contact over a possible summer move but do not want to pay over €25 million to seal the deal. So, Newcastle United might have an opportunity to beat the Bundesliga and Serie A holders to the 23-year-old by offering €30-35 million.
