Chelsea, Manchester United offer €75 million to sign Viktor Gyokeres

Chelsea and Manchester United are now in the mix for Viktor Gyokeres, as the Premier League giants are ready to make a big offer in the summer.

According to Fichajes, Viktor Gyokeres could have multiple Premier League choices ahead of the summer as Manchester United and Chelsea are now in the mix for the striker. The Premier League duo are prepared to make a big offer of around €75 million to tempt Sporting CP, as they are ready to rival Arsenal in a big way for the Swede.

Viktor Gyokeres is coming at the back of another goal-laden season with Sporting CP, with the Swedish striker now on 54 goal contributions for the season. The Swede has proven in over two seasons his readiness to play in a bigger league, as he seems destined for a big move in the summer.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Swedish striker in the last few weeks, with widespread reports making the Gunners the current favourites to land him. New sporting director Andrea Berta has put him on top of his list of strikers ahead of the summer, although there could be a new twist in the tale.

Arsenal have plenty of competition from their Premier League rivals, as Chelsea and Manchester United are now in the mix for Viktor Gyokeres, with the duo readying a €75 million offer. The English giants are vying for a new centre-forward in the close season, with the Swede certainly part of their thinking.

Manchester United are in the picture due to the presence of Ruben Amorim, who has worked extensively with Gyokeres during his time at Sporting CP. The Red Devils had been prepared to make a offer, which could be in line with what the Portuguese club might want, although a lack of Champions League football could affect this pursuit.

Chelsea to rival Manchester United in Viktor Gyokeres chase

Chelsea had set sights on Gyokeres for some time now, as the Blues are gearing up for another big summer transfer window. They have been constantly criticised for the lack of a centre-forward over the last few transfer windows where they have spent big amounts on other positions.

Chelsea may have an upper hand in the race given they are now one of the favourites to finish in the top five, thus landing Champions League football. However, the biggest threat for the Blues or even Manchester United in the race for the 54 G/A striker target will come from Arsenal, who are heading in the right direction in their pursuit of signing Viktor Gyokeres in the summer.
