Liverpool will hold out for a substantial offer for Jarell Quansah

Newcastle United could be priced out of a deal for Jarell Quansah as Liverpool are expected to ask for a substantial offer in the summer.

According to Football Insider, Jarell Quansah remains a target for Newcastle United in the summer, although his potential asking price could be a big issue for Eddie Howe’s side. Liverpool are set to demand a substantial offer for the academy graduate.

Liverpool are bracing for a tough summer window ahead, as there are many changes anticipated to this potential title-winning squad. Arne Slot is already considering many changes that may or may not be in his hands, as many of his defenders are in with a chance to leave Anfield.

For starters, the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk remain unclear with the defensive duo already into the final few months of their existing deals. The former is reportedly agreed to join Real Madrid while the latter is yet to decide on his immediate future. Moreover, Ibrahima Konate will enter the final year of his deal, which could also see him leave for a substantial offer in the summer.

Addn to that there are doubts about Jarell Quansah’s future, with the Liverpool prospect not particularly considered key by Arne Slot so far this season. The 22-year-old has started only 11 of his 22 games across all competitions although the departures of those many defenders could open a big gap for him to shine.

However, Liverpool are already looking to sign new defenders with the likes of Marc Guehi and Dean Huijsen among the names linked. Hence, there’s a chance Quansah might consider an offer from elsewhere, although the Merseysiders are not particularly looking to sell him despite some ongoing links.

Newcastle United could be priced out of Jarell Quansah deal

Newcastle United are interested in Quansah without a doubt, with Eddie Howe keen to add to his defence. The Magpies boss is also interested in Huijsen as an option but is also prepared to go back with the club;’s interest in the Liverpool prospect which has existed since last season. However, the Merseysiders are reportedly keen to ask for a substantial fee of more than £30 million as per the report.

At that price, the magpies could be priced out of a deal even though Quansah is reportedly keen to join them. It’s not to say there are no legs to this particular saga, as things could certainly change around the summer depending on what transpires with the current defensive setup at Liverpool.
