AC Milan, PSG vying for Andrey Santos

AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Italian outlet Milan Live, Andrey Santos faces an uncertain future at Chelsea heading into the summer transfer window. AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the Brazilian midfielder, with the Rossoneri ready to secure his services on a dry loan.

Andrey Santos and the wait for his Chelsea breakthrough

Andrey Santos has had to bide his time since joining Chelsea from Vasco da Gama in January 2023. A native of Rio de Janeiro, the South American midfielder spent most of his formative years in his homeland and graduated from the youth division at Vasco da Gama. However, he has yet to establish a foothold at Chelsea.

The 20-year-old has embarked on three loan spells away from Chelsea in the last 24 months. However, the RC Strasbourg stint is the only one that has brought the best out of Santos, with the youngster excelling in the 2024/25 season thus far. The highly-rated midfielder has contributed to 13 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions by finding the back of the net ten times and providing three assists.

However, the Brazilian midfield prospect faces an uncertain future at Chelsea heading into the summer transfer window, with recent reports claiming the Blues are ready to cash in on him. The situation has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, with AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

A man in demand

AC Milan’s interest in Andrey Santos is understandable. The Serie A giants are combing the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window, having parted ways with Ismael Bennacer a few weeks ago. So, several candidates, including Rodrigo Bentancur, have emerged on AC Milan’s radar, with the Chelsea whizkid also a viable target.

As for PSG, Vitinha, Joao Neves, and Warren Zaire-Emery have been exceptional in the middle of the park for Les Parisiens. However, Vitinha and Zaire-Emery are targets for several high-profile clubs across Europe. So, PSG can do with a midfielder, with Santos being an option worth considering.

The report has claimed that AC Milan will be happy to take the 20-year-old Brazilian midfield prospect on a dry loan for the 2025/26 season. That might appeal to Chelsea if they do not want to sell the youngster, contrary to recent updates.
