Enzo Maresca is trying to steer the Dean Huijsen deal towards Chelsea, with Real Madrid particularly interested in the defender.
According to Sport via Sport Witness, Chelsea could be looking to take the upper hand in the race for Bournemouth sensation Dean Huijsen. Enzo Maresca is reportedly trying to steer the transfer in the favour of the Blues having been in touch with the defender’s entourage, as Real Madrid are very much interested in the recently capped Spanish international.
Dean Huisen has made a big impact in the Premier League during his debut season with Bournemouth. Having arrived from Juventus last summer, Andoni Iraola has been able to get the best out of the defender, who was recently called up by Luis de la Fuente to the Spanish national team and subsequently made his debut against his nation of birth the Netherlands.
The 19-year-old Premier League prodigy looked at home with the Spanish side, as there are reports he would prefer a move to La Liga amid big interest from Premier League sides. There are a whole lot of clubs chasing his signature including Liverpool, while Chelsea are open to paying big to sign Huijsen.
Huijsen has a release clause worth around €50 million as per the report, and Bournemouth will be in no mood to negotiate the price. Hence, for any club to sign him, they may have to place a bid worth the clause, and then leave it to the player to decide his next destination provided there are more than one club in the equation.
As for Chelsea, they are keen and Enzo Maresca is reportedly trying to steer the defender towards Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer. The report states the Blues boss has been in direct contact with Huijsen’s entourage for years while they also state he has been monitoring the defender’s progress for many years now.
Are Real Madrid favourites to land Dean Huijsen?
The defender chose to represent Spain at the international level, which does make his preference of playing in La Liga more credible. Real Madrid are in the market for a new defender and reportedly looking to improve the Spanish core of the team. The Spanish giants are the current favourites to land the Bournemouth defender.
Real Madrid are eager to sign Huijsen, with the 19-year-old Premier League prodigy’s qualities suiting the Spanish giants. The newly capped Spanish international would be a smart signing for the future, as the club have some centre-backs with dodgy injury records from recent seasons, and Florentino Perez would like to freshen things up with the Bournemouth star.
