Jadon Sancho is expected to leave Manchester United permanently in the summer, and multiple clubs are keen on securing his signature.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea have an option to sign Jadon Sancho permanently from Manchester United for a £25 million fee. However, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma, and Lazio are keeping tabs on his situation as well.
Chelsea are currently evaluating the situation, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to sign the player permanently in the summer. The Englishman has done reasonably well for Chelsea since joining the club on loan, but the Blues could certainly use an upgrade. They could look to offload him after completing a permanent deal.
The Blues have been overly dependent on Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson in the final third. They need dynamic attackers capable of operating anywhere across the front three. Sancho is a quality player, but he has not been at his best since the move to England. Chelsea should look to aim higher and bring in someone who could transform them in the offensive unit.
Will Sancho return to Germany?
Sancho played his best football in Germany, and a return to the Bundesliga could be ideal for him. Borussia Dortmund are keen on bringing him back, and a return to his comfort zone could bring out the best in him once again.
Similarly, Bayer Leverkusen need more depth in the final third. Florian Wirtz has been linked with a move away from the club, and they will need to replace the player. It remains to be seen whether Sancho is ready to return to Germany or if he is open to trying out a new challenge in Italy if Chelsea decide not to keep him.
The player does not have a future at Manchester United, and returning to Old Trafford is simply not an option for him. It would be ideal for him to move on and join another club. The Englishman will look to sort out his future and focus on his football once again. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
The England international is still quite young, and £25 million is a reasonable asking price for him. If he manages to hit top form, the deal could look like a major bargain, especially if Chelsea can sell him for a sizeable fee.
