Real Madrid have the edge over Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United in the race to sign Bournemouth defensive sensation Dean Huijsen.
Dean Huijsen’s impressive performances for Bournemouth have put him on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in the world. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all keen on signing him, but according to AS via SportWitness, Real Madrid have an advantage over all three Premier League outfits.
Huijsen came up the ranks at Juventus. While things didn’t work out for him at the Turin-based club, the move to Bournemouth has worked wonders for him. He joined the Cherries last summer and has been a consistent feature in their XI since the start.
He has featured in 27 matches across competitions and even has two goals to his name. The 19-year-old centre-back has made quite a name for himself with his impressive performances, and there is no shortage of interest in him. While his contract at the English club runs until the summer of 2030, there is a €50 million release clause, which could lead to his departure in the summer.
Premier League giants want Huijsen
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all after his signature. The Blues are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and Huijsen certainly fits the bill. Enzo Maresca seeks more quality and depth, and the teenager can help him out.
Meanwhile, the Reds could end up parting ways with both their starting centre-backs in the summer. Virgil van Dijk’s contract is running out, while Ibrahima Konate’s future is uncertain. As a result, they are looking to sign a young centre-back with an eye on the future, and Huijsen is quite high on their wishlist.
While United have made significant investments in defenders in the recent past, Amorim still wants to bring in a few fresh faces. They want to target young options, and there are not many better than the Bournemouth start in the Premier League at this point.
Real Madrid front-runners to sign Huijsen
Real Madrid are also keen on his signature, and they seem to have a massive advantage over the others. The 19-year-old who recently made his debut for Spain is a big fan of Los Blancos and would love to be a part of their team.
He was eligible to represent the Netherlands, but his decision to play for Spain was driven by his dream of joining the La Liga giants. While the team in white were initially planning to sign him in the summer of 2026, they are now ready to make a move this summer due to the competition for his signature. They hope the player will assist them by publicly expressing his desire to join.
