La Liga club Sevilla will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Dutch midfield prospect Lamare Bogarde from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Lamare Bogarde is the subject of interest from Sevilla. The Andalusian giants are scouring the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window. So, the 21-year-old Aston Villa midfield prospect has emerged as a target for Los Nervionenses.
Who is Lamare Bogarde?
Lamare Bogarde has had to bide his time since breaking into the first-team squad at Aston Villa. A native of Rotterdam, the Dutchman spent most of his formative years in his hometown. The youngster passed through the academies at Swift Boys Rotterdam and Feyenoord but graduated from the youth division at Aston Villa after joining the West Midlands club in 2020.
Bogarde made his first-team bow for Aston Villa a few days after his 17th birthday in January 2021. However, the youngster has yet to become a regular for the West Midlands club and has only started growing in stature in the ongoing campaign. The 21-year-old has not even completed 1,000 minutes of game time for the first team this term in his 16 outings thus far.
Nevertheless, Bogarde’s stock in the market is high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. An adventure in La Liga might be on the cards for the Dutch youth international, with Sevilla keen on signing the highly-rated midfielder in the summer transfer window.
La Liga adventure on the horizon?
Sevilla’s interest in Lamare Bogarde is understandable. The Andalusian giants are combing the market for a midfielder heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Albert Sambi Lokonga’s long-term future at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
While Sevilla will aim to seal a permanent deal for the Belgian midfielder in the summer transfer window, Los Nervionenses will face stiff competition from several La Liga clubs for his signature. So, Bogarde has emerged as a viable alternative on the Andalusian outfit’s wishlist.
However, it is unclear if Aston Villa will be open to parting ways with the 21-year-old Dutchman in the summer transfer window. A loan deal might be the ideal solution for all parties if the Villans do not want to sell the Dutch midfield prospect.
