Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Jarrad Branthwaite.
According to Sky Sports, Jarrad Branthwaite could end up parting ways with Everton this summer. The English centre-back is considering his future at the Merseyside club, which is a massive boost for Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham, who are all keen on acquiring his services.
Branthwaite joined Everton back in 2020. After a few successful loan spells away from the club, he has managed to establish himself as one of their mainstays. The 22-year-old’s consistent performances over the last two seasons have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs.
While he remains one of the first names on their team sheet and still has well over two years left on his deal, Branthwaite has started considering his future at the club. He was hopeful of making Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad, but things didn’t go as planned, as he was left out and is currently part of the Under-21s.
This has come as a massive blow for the player, who is now thinking about joining a bigger club to stand a chance of making the squad for the World Cup next year. His decision is a massive boost for all interested parties.
Premier League giants keen on signing Branthwaite
Manchester United are one of the clubs that have a long-standing interest in him. They even tried signing him last year, but Everton turned down their offer. The Red Devils haven’t given up just yet. They remain keen on his signature and could return in the summer.
Amorim wants to freshen things up at the back, and Branthwaite could be a great acquisition in the long run. But, United are not the only club that are after his signature as Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham have all scouted him during the course of the ongoing season.
With Virgil van Dijk set to be a free agent and Ibrahima Konate’s future uncertain, they do need to bring in a world-class centre-back. The Everton defender certainly fits the bill, but convincing their arch-rivals could be a problem.
Meanwhile, City are constantly on the lookout for players who can further bolster their squad, and Branthwaite seems to be an ideal fit for their project. As far as Spurs are concerned, they seek more quality and depth, with Cristian Romero attracting significant interest and Micky van de Ven struggling with recurring injuries.
