West Ham United are reportedly open to selling Luis Guilherme in the summer following an underwhelming start to life at the London Stadium.
According to Caught Offside, West Ham United could part ways with highly-rated attacker Luis Guilherme in the summer. The Hammers are open to sanctioning a departure for €30 million which could effectively let them recoup the investment made on the 19-year-old Brazilian.
Luis Guilherme had the world at his feet last summer when some of the biggest clubs made their interest in the winger known. The likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea were keen, although it was West Ham United that stole the march on those top clubs to sign the 19-year-old from Palmeiras.
The Hammers paid a fee of £25.5 million to sign Guilherme last summer, and so far the winger has had an underwhelming start to life at the London Stadium. He has played a total of seven games, all as a substitute, totaling 55 minutes across competitions as there were high expectations from him.
The winger was linked with a move back in January, with FC Porto reportedly making an approach for his services, probably on a loan deal. Guilherme stayed at West Ham in that window, although that stance could change ahead of the summer as the Hammers are now reportedly open to selling the highly-rated attacker.
West Ham wants €30 million to sell him, with the report stating there are a host of clubs keeping close tabs, who want to land the winger only on a loan without an obligation to buy. The Hammers may even sanction such a deal should it help them get the required valuation on the player, who could, in theory, emerge as a top star of the future.
Should West Ham United sell Luis Guilherme?
West Ham reportedly rejected a €15 million offer from Shakhtar Donetsk, with the Ukranian club known to develop Brazilians for many years now. They could still be an option in the near future, especially if the Hammers decide to send Guilherme on a loan deal rather than sell him outright.
Graham Potter reportedly wants to keep Guilherme, although the player would want to develop by playing regularly something he might not achieve at West Ham. The likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus are ahead in the pecking order, which might be extremely challenging for the highly-rated attacker to overcome at least in the immediate term. Hence a loan deal might suit him rather than leaving permanently.
