Luis Guilherme set for West Ham stay

Brazilian attacking sensation Luis Guilherme will continue at West Ham United for now despite interest from clubs across Europe.

Luis Guilherme was linked with a move away from West Ham throughout the winter transfer window. Multiple top clubs were after his signature but according to a report from 1908.nl, the Brazilian winger is all set to stay at the London club for now.

The 18-year-old attacking sensation came up the ranks at Palmeiras. He was a part of their setup since his childhood. After going up the ranks at some pace, he got promoted to their first team at the start of 2023.

His impressive performances over the next 18 months along with his massive potential attracted a lot of attention from Europe. Quite a few clubs were after his signature during last summer’s transfer window but West Ham managed to beat the competition to sign him.

The move to the London club hasn’t worked out for the teenager. He has been involved in seven fixtures racking up just 53 minutes. Having spent the majority of the time on the bench throughout the first half, Luis Guilherme was linked with a move away throughout the winter transfer window.

Quite a few clubs were looking to make the most out of the situation and secure his services for the second half of the season. Feyenoord were one of the clubs that were looking to add him to their squad. The Dutch club wanted more firepower and they went after his signature on deadline day.

While they were constantly pushing for his signature, they couldn’t strike a deal with the club or the player. Eventually, the Hammers decided against sanctioning his departure even though there was no shortage of offers for the 18-year-old who could feature anywhere in attack.

Crysencio Summerville has picked up a serious injury which could keep him out of action for a long while and it might have played a massive role in West Ham’s decision to not part ways with Luis Guilherme. Since they have decided to have him around for the second half of the season, it will be interesting to see how much game time he has under Graham Potter.
