David Moyes’s Everton are reportedly in a strong position to acquire the services of West Bromwich Albion winger Tom Fellows this summer.
According to a report from Football Insider, Everton are keen on signing Tom Fellows ahead of next season as David Moyes looks to reinforce his squad. They did make a move for him in the winter window, but things did not go according to plan. However, the Toffees have not given up and will return for him in the summer.
Fellows has come up the ranks at West Bromwich Albion. He got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2023 and has only gone from strength to strength since. The youngster is already a key figure in the team, and he has been one of their standout performers this season.
The Englishman has featured in a total of 37 league outings, and he has contributed towards 13 goals. Tom Fellows has the most number of assists (11) in the English second division, and his performances have put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs.
Everton were keen on signing him in the winter transfer window. They even had an agreement in place with the 21-year-old on transfer deadline day, but the two clubs couldn’t agree on a fee. As a result, the deal collapsed.
Everton to return for Fellows’s signature
Despite the failed winter move, Everton have not given up on Tom Fellows just yet. David Moyes is all set to prioritise reinforcing the flanks, and the Merseyside club are all set to once again try and sign the West Bromwich Albion sensation. This time around, they will have a bigger budget to work with, which can certainly help their cause.
Signing a winger is a top priority for Everton, as both of their current right-wing options, Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom, are on loan. Harrison is set to return to Leeds United, while Lindstrom’s contract includes a buy option, though Moyes has yet to decide on his future.
The Toffees consider Fellows a great option for the short as well as long run. Moyes is the one pushing to complete the deal and they are believed to be very well-placed to get a deal over the line.
While Everton are leading the race, their pursuit could be derailed if West Brom secure promotion to the top flight. But, if they remain in the Championship, Fellows will most likely be on the move.
